Time for a sad story – when the owner of this very special Toyota AE86 came to me with a request for a very special photoshoot, I instantly knew the reason why. The car was soon to be sold and I was tasked with capturing the machine at it’s best so the owner could remember it forever.

It’s clearly worth it. With last year being my first time at Mimms I was eagerly anticipating the first 2013 one, and what a cracker it was! The MK3 Golf is one of the most overlooked one of the bunch in our opinion, car enthusiasts just always seemed to be more interested in the MK2’s, 4’s, and 5’s meaning that slowly the MK3 was just pushed out of the equation and turned into something that people just don’t seem to modify these days. Clearly David Ross’s MK3 is an exception due to the amount of attention and love his little hatchback seemed to grab at the first Rollin’ on Steelies meet early this year…

Since then, Gary has become one of our closest friends through our shared passion of cars. After making the successful Team440 Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Team440), Gary is always on the lookout to create Team440/SlamMedia’ meets up North for all of our fans we have up there.
And it’s thanks to this car that SlamMedia and our friendship with Gary is where we are today, which is why it is such a shame that this car has now gone on to another life…
